Play Partners is our short break support service for children and young people with special needs and disabilities, between 5 and 17 years old. The service provides one-to-one support, enabling children to access mainstream play and leisure activities of their choice and whenever possible, in their local community. Examples of activities include local Brownies or Scouts group, leisure centre, youth clubs, vocational courses or dance and drama groups. The short-term support encourages children to improve their social skills, be more independent and continue to attend the activity after support comes to an end. Play Partners also helps activity providers become more inclusive and cater to children’s needs.
If you want to find out more about Play Partners and how to access the service please read our Play Partners Information Booklet.
