We are Leeds Play Network, the only charity in the Leeds area dedicated to promoting play and providing free play opportunities for children across the entire city. We have existed for over 25 wonderful years and made thousands of children happy over the years.
This makes us the local experts in play, which is what brought us a Child Friendly Leeds award in the Overall Contribution in January 2016.
We are very busy trying to keep thousands of children playing each year and the demand for our services, which are all free, is growing.
Our official charity objectives are:
‘to promote the education of, to promote the mental, moral and physical development of and to promote the provision of facilities for the recreation of other leisure-time occupation in the interests of the social welfare of, young people, under the age of 16 years’.
In other words, we make sure children in Leeds are happy, healthy and playful under our watch.
Our Trustee Board consists of five volunteer members who hold overall responsibility for the running of the organisation. Our current Board members are Lynne Smith, Brian Cheeseman, Fraser Brown, Stephen Hunter and Carol Davison.
